The neighbors liked it and said that it would probably make a good People's CHoice chili with the addition of some beans. The flavors blended well, The chili was full-bodied, perhaps too much so, because the flavor got very intense if I ate more than a spoonful or two. The consistency was a little on the thick side and could have been smoother. Overall, it was just too spicy. While cooking, I had to keep increasing the amount of cumin to counter the tomato juice and this just made the chili more intense. I could not taste the onion, garlic, or oregano and would have liked more of these. The black pepper made the chili too tingly for a mild chili. Oil separated from the chili even after skimming. The meat chunks were tender, but not mushy. The size of the chunks was too large, however and probably could have been improved by cutting each shunk in half.
